Diesel,

See emoticons for my results on all of these:

Resolution

iPhone automatically registers your phone number for use with FaceTime and iMessage during activation.

To use FaceTime with your Apple ID, navigate to Settings > FaceTime and tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime." 😕 I do not get the option on this. My screen just says "waiting for activation"

To use iMessage with your Apple ID, navigate to Settings > Messages > Receive At and tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage." 😕 I do not get the option on this. My screen just says "waiting for activation"

.

If you see "Waiting for Activation" when trying to activate your phone number with iMessage or FaceTime on iPhone

To resolve this issue:

  1. Ensure that you have an active Internet connection. You can complete activation using Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection. If you need help connecting to Wi-Fi, follow these steps.
  2. Update to the latest version of iOS.
  3. Ensure that FaceTime hasn't been restricted: tap Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
  4. Ensure that your iPhone is set to the correct time zone: tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: If Set Automatically is on but the incorrect time zone appears, turn Set Automatically off and choose the correct time zone, date, and time.
  5. Verify that you can send SMS messages. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime and iMessage.
  6. Contact your carrier to verify that there are no restrictions or blocks on text messages. Blocks on text messaging will prevent iMessage and FaceTime registration.

😕 I am connected to the network and all my other Apple apps work and log in like the app store and iTunes.

If "Waiting for Activation" still appears after you perform these steps, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime. You may need to wait up to 24 hours to complete activation. Most attempts will take less than an hour, but some attempts may take up to 24 hours. If your issue isn't resolved after 24 hours, follow these steps. If you've recently performed a remote wipe on your iPhone, wait 24 hours from the time you performed the remote wipe, and then turn iMessage off then back on

😕 I am now going on 96 hours waiting for activation.

If you see "Waiting for Activation" when trying to activate your Apple ID with iMessage or FaceTime on iPhone

When you're enabling FaceTime or iMessage on an iPhone, you may see "Waiting for Activation" or "Activation unsuccessful."

To resolve this issue, follow these steps. After each step, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.

  1. Ensure that you have an active Internet connection. You can complete activation using Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection. If you need help connecting to Wi-Fi, follow these steps. 😕 It is and I have tried multiple different wifi locations.
  2. Update to the latest version of iOS. 😕 Think you know the answer to this on...
  3. If your Apple ID isn't an email address, you can change it. The Apple ID that you're using to activate FaceTime or iMessage must be an email address. For more information, see how to change your Apple ID. 😕 It is an email address
  4. If you get an error when you try to sign in to your Apple ID, sign in to your account and ensure that the primary email address has been verified. If verification is pending, follow the instructions in the email that was sent to that email address to complete verification.
  5. Ensure that FaceTime hasn't been restricted: tap Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime. 😕 Have changed this setting a couple of times to be sure.
  6. Ensure that your iPhone is set to the correct time zone: tap Settings > General > Date & Time. 😕 I have done this also.
Note: If Set Automatically is on but the incorrect time zone appears, turn Set Automatically off and choose the correct time zone, date, and time.
  7. Enable iMessage and FaceTime while connected to another Wi-Fi network in a different location. 😕 Have tryed multiple locations.

You can see that you've activated FaceTime and iMessage with your Apple ID by tapping: 😕 Never see this screen.

  • Settings > FaceTime > You can be reached by FaceTime at:
  • Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached by iMessage at:

User uploaded file

If you've waited 24 hours and still can't activate FaceTime or iMessage (iPhone only) or you see "Could not sign in, please check your network connection and try again"

If you're still unable to resolve the symptoms above after performing these troubleshooting steps, please contact Apple for assistance. 😕 I thought I was doing this now.

Others have had success with it. Sorry it did not help you.

I know it doesn't help you much now but Apple is aware of the issue and is expected to release 7.0.3 next week to address iMessage issues.
