IOS7 iPhone emails disappearing, are not delivered

Ever since I upgraded to IOS7 on my iPhone 4, I cannot send email. After I write the email and send it, it disappears. It does not show up in sent mail, and the intended recipient does not receive it. This happens on gmail, yahoo and aol accounts. I can send and receive email just fine on my PC laptop. But no longer on my IOS7 iPhone. Occasionally the iPhone email is delivered hours later, but that is rare. I have "rebooted" my iPhone, with no effect. Can I fix this? Is it my iPhone or is it IOS7? Can/will Apple fix this? Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know what I can do?

I am also having this issue. This problem first appeared on my iPad2 after upgrading to IOS7 back in October. A reboot of the iPad cleared it up so I thought. I just found out today that people aren't receiving my emails again when sent from my iPad2 or my iPhone5 which has also been upgraded to IOS7. I confirmed by sending emails to a seperate account. I restarted the mail apps on both devices (double click home button and swiping up on the mail app) and it seems to have cleared it up for the time being.


This is extremley frustrating, some of these emails were very important, work related. Back in October I got into a little trouble at work becasue my boss thought I wasn't returning his emails. Apple needs to confirm this issue is real and let us know what it being done. If I can't trust using these devices for important work related emails, then I have no use for them and might as well switch to Android.


I have a combination of 2 gmail accounts and 1 hotmail account configured on my devices. Back in October I also had an exchange account configured, I no longer do as I no longer work there, partially due to this issue.

I have been having similar problems since updating my iphone to ios7 a month ago. I can't send or receive emails on any of my apple products... mac, ipad or iphone. It is extremely frustrating. This cannot continue as it is not workable for people using iphone for work, or for anyone with this problem. A previous poster's solution of switching to an LG G2 is appealing right now. I also have found Apple online support dismissive and after over two hours of trying to get my problem figured out the online support disconnected with no closing, suggestions or other ideas. It's shocking to me that Apple is not publicizing any recognition of this problem. A lot of business is being lost.

Thanks for posting up your solution. How is your phone going since the restore? Any recurrance of this issue for you? It is an extreme fix for this bug that they have put you through, and I would rather avoid it if I can, but having tried everything else, I am about to resort to giving this fix a go, but just wanted to make sure it really have resolved the issue for you.

So just to add a slightly different spin on this thread, I thought I was having exactly the same issue, but I have just discovered that SOME of my emails are in fact getting through to the receipient, but I just can't see them. It is like they have completely vanished. It is not showing in my sent box on my iPhone (iOS 7.0.4), or in my Outlook sent box, or even if I log into webmail it isn't showing their either.... but the email was received by the person I sent it to!


Some were just completely disappearing. Not being recieved and not showing up in my sent folder on my iPhone, Outlook or Webmail. I have just done some tweaking and it seems to have worked. This is what I did:


Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> (choose the mail account that is giving you grief)> Account> scroll down and select "Advanced".


You then have a screen that allows you to select "Mailbox Behaviour". Choose "Sent Mailbox". Mine was set to the "Sent" mailbox under the section "on my phone". Change it to the "sent" box under the section "On The Server".


I also did the same for Drafts and Deleted mailbox. This seems to have worked. I have run a few email tests and it's holding together for now. Hopefully it sticks and I hope it was this easy. I was just about to do a complete re-install, which I was dreading.

There is no one fix that we, the users, can provide. The above fix does not apply to Exchange accounts. I have seen this issue on ActiveSync email accounts.


Apple needs to get their heads out of their arses and release a patch to fix this bug.


I urge all of you to take to social media to spread the word. Something needs to be done.


As someone reported a few weeks ago. They almost lost their job. I'm sure he/she is not the only one.

You are right! I forgot to mention that the account giving me grief was an IMAP account. Hotmail and MS Exchange accounts were both working fine for me.


It is an extremely inconvienient bug, to the point I just wasn't sending emails from my phone because I couldn't trust it to actually send the email. That is really frustrating when you are on the road and away from your PC a lot. Good idea on taking to social media. Amazing what a bit of bad publicity will do!

Although most people think this is IO7, I do not think so. I did not upgrade to IOS7 and yet I have experienced PRECISELY the same issue over the last month or two. Some emails, not all, after I press send vanish. There is no record of them, and for sure, they are not received. I also reinstalled both email accounts (Exchange and AOL), and the problem did go away for a few days, and then started again. It is a treacherous problem because you never know whether an email was sent or not, unless you check your sent box, and if you send multiple emails, you cant remember them all!!


Lastly, I never turn my email accounts on or off, so I think that being a possible cause is a red herring.


Anyway, this description is almost identical to several others, except that it's an Iphone 5 running IOS 6.

Hello.


I HAVE TO AGREE, i have looked beyond page 5 and no one from Apple is replying. Therefore the ony assumption is that apple techs are being told to ingore the customer. I am relatively new to apple devices, and was under the destincy impression that apple looked after and valued their customers.


APPLE, this is a serious and massive problem, more and more email users are using their iphones and ipads as the primary email device, and the simple fact that we are assuming an email is sent, and it is extremely alarming that the email is not even in the sent items and worse not synced with gmail, office365, imap etc etc.


as a failsafe can i suggest to the comunity that if the email is important (lets face it you would not send or reply it it was not) to cc or bcc yourself or another account on all emails.


APPLE, you really need to sort this out, I lost work today, I replyed to an offer of a contract, and as a customer did not get a reply they awarded work to another contractor. THANKS!!!!!


Time to get the working windows 8 laptop with outlook out of storage....
