iPhone 5S home button seems loose.

I just got my iphone 5S gold today and the Home button feels loose also doesnt feel sturdy enough and it does make a loud clicking sound my old iphone 5 home button felt sturdy this one feels like its going to fail pretty soon. im not sure if this is normal but to me it seems like a flaw since it could be some of the first iphone 5S batches

Yes I have exactly the same problem. I just got the phone for 3 weeks and now I am afraid after another few weeks the button will actually fail. But my touch ID still works fine right now.

Wondering if Apple will treat this as defective and do anything about it.

My ipad mini home button has been feeling very loose, when I first got it it was loose but I thought it was normal but now I know it's not and it's gotten a lot worse like I can hear it move around when I shake my ipad. I bought it from amazon, would Apple fix it?

I've been using my iPhone for about four weeks. And I have just started to notice that the home button feels a little loose. It was a little startling because I haven't had the phone for more than a month yet and something is already going wrong. My Touch-ID still works perfectly but it feels like it's going to break here in the near future. I hope that Apple will do something to fix this if it does in fact go kablooey. I haven't dropped it at all and it's been in the iPhone 5S case since day one so it's in very good condition.

Half way pressing the button will produce a clicking sound that's just ugly when combined with the "real" click sound of the button fully pressed.

Same here as well- I exchanged my first iphone 5S a couple weeks ago under warranty for a defect in the oleophobic coating (had this weird smudge that you clean off, but once you started using the phone it would return.. and was visable against light backgrounds). Now this one has the 'double click' sound, if I'm push down the home button for a few a seconds it'll go away for a while- I'm guessing part of the adhesive isn't holding properly. I'll probably hold off on try to exchange it again- this one does much better with it's touchid sensor. The first one would give me a 'try again' 50% of the time for any of the fingers I programmed it for, even after relearning. The new I haven't received a single false negative yet.

Same here. Button has 2 click. If I use it a lot the first click goes away, but if I leave the phone alone for 10-15 min it returnes. Seems like the glu or something doesn't hold well.

Yeah I just talked with Apple support guy online and inform them of this issue. He said it's not characteristic but he will put it in the notes to make sure it is covered. As far as I see there is no soon solution for this issue. You might get it into store and ask for a replacement.

From everything I've read this is because of the design changes in the Home button required to support the TouchID ring.

Every demo 5S I've tried in every Apple Store does the same thing, so it's not an issue unique to a particular phone or run of phones.

I really think this issue should be brought to Apple's attention. Otherwise I guess we are stuck with it

I'm having exactly the same problem with you guys. After a month using IP5S, my home button seems loose, has double click sound whenever I press it. My touch ID still works perfectly but the double click sound is somewhat really annoying. It makes me feel like my home button will break someday soon.
