iPad won't update says not connected to Internet

iOS 10 needs iTunes 12.5 so be sure to upgrade iTunes first.

iTunes did the trick, iPad is fully updated. Thanks you all for your help!

Turn router off for 30 seconds When it's back on go to settings on ipad down to reset Reset network settings After reset enter your router wireless key.

brianfromhayling island, please identify the current iOS version on the iPad. It should be in Settings > About.

Have updated the iPad using iTunes on my Mac. All fixed. Many thanks for you help Diana.McCall.
