I want to SEE a list of documents I have stored in iCloud.

I do not care which device stored it there. I want to see what is stored there so I can delete ht I don't need and avoid buying more storage space. Or is that Apple's grand plan - make it impossible to manage document stoage so we just have to keep paying for more and more storage space???

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1, hi there

Like I said, I don't care. But, if you insist, let's pick the Mac.

You have one iCloud account, it is the same account on all of your devices. But in order to tell you how to access the storage management section YOU have to decide which device you want to use!

On your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud>Manage, you will be able to see what is stored on iCloud from there.

Don't start fiddling in the mobile documents folder unless you know what you are doing.

On your Mac all documents at once. Open system preferences > iCloud > manage and select one of the document types from the left side and a list of documents will appear on the right side.

On your phone, all documents at once. Open settings . iCloud > storage & back up > manage storage and select one of the document types from the list and a list of documents will appear on the next screen.

Thank you very much. I discovered that when I went to the Mobile Documents folder it looked like they were docs that were put there by other apps, so I didn't mess with them.

What I really needed was to know to click on the Manage button in the iCloud System Preferences, that was the key! 🙂 I just assumed that button was only for buying more iCloud storage space, since it's located next to the usage bar.

Best Regards,

Nancy

Yes, since in iOS only a given app can access and use the documents in its own storage space, each app in iOS that can use iCloud documents&data storage creates a subfolder in Mobile Documents for its own specific files.

Every app listed under your manage storage section of your iCloud account settings on your iOS device will have its own folder there.

While you want to be careful messing about in Mobile Documents so you do not loose something you did not intend to, if you understand how iCloud storage works for iOS apps, it is pretty easy to use it to drag and drop files compatible with an app into there to sync them up to iCloud so you can in turn sync them to your app on your iOS device.

I generally use finder and Mobile documents to put things I want on my iOS devices in there appropriate folder - but I tend to only delete things from within the app itself, so there is never any confusion about exactly what file I am removing.

I want to SEE a list of documents I have stored in iCloud.
