How do I unsubscribe from calendar in iOS7?

I accidentally subscribed to a calendar that I don't want on my iPhone running iOS 7. I want to try to delete it, but when I click on Calendars, the little information icon only lets me change the name or change the color of the calendar. If I click on edit, then I can click on the little arrow to access that calendar, however my options are the same as before: change the name, or change the color. There is no option to delete this calendar anywhere!! I can delete my other calendars, but it seems that when I have a subscribed calendar that I am permanently stuck with it. Is this a bug of iOS 7, or is there something I'm missing? I know that it's usually the latter, so hopefully someone can help.

I just subscribed to a shutterfly calendar and it wasn't the color I had selected so I re-did it and now I have two on my calendar and I can't delete either one! Unchecking it hides one of them but it's basically messed up and I would like to unsubscribe both and start over. None of the above advice is working. I am on OS 10.9.2 and the latest ISO for icloud.

Sorry just realized this was for iphone questions and I did find the answer on how to delete calendars from a mac!

Well, I thought I was going nuts but I'm so glad I have found this thread. I too got the mysterious US Holiday's subscription onder the "other" section which caused duplicate entries as I am already subscribed to my own US Holiday's calendar. I find it very frustrating that I can't delete subscribed calenders in iOS 7.1 and am puzzled as to why they felt this would be helpful.

I haven't subscribed to any calendar, I don't live in the US. But today a subscribed US Holidays appeared on my iPad and iPhone. I wonder why...

If Apple is trying to offer a similar option as in OSX Maverick, it's not as intelligent since, on my iMac, if I select the Holydays option it'll show location based holidays, not US Holidays. And it doesn't appear as a subscription, but an option on Calendar preferences.

I don't like things being forcedly pushed on me, like Facebook do with their "suggested this" "suggested that" advertising bs. Had I subscribed to a holiday calendar from another country I wouldn't be complaining. But I didn't do it. So, dear Apple, could you please check what's going on? Is it a bug, a virus, a hacker joke, a conspiracy? Could you please fix it?

Thanks for listening

I have the same problem with the "Schweizerische Feiertage" which appears under "Other" in my IOS7 Calendar list: cannot delete it. As it was created using an app from the App Store with the same name as the calendar I hoped when deleting the app the calendars subscription will also disappear - to no success... pretty enoying as this calendar is inclomplete and not synced to my OSX Calendar via iCloud.

I noticed the same thing. It seems that you can´t unsubscribe but at least there is a way to change the active Holidays calendar. I did it both in the OS X Calendar and in the iPad Calendar. In both cases you have to change the regional format.

in OS X Calendar: Preferences -- > Language & Region and choose you region

in iPad or iPhone Calendar: settings --> General --> International and choose your region format

That will only change the holiday calendar that will be shown, but at least it won´t be the UK holidays if you live somewhere else. If in any case you don´t want to see the holidays in the calendar, you just have to go to the calendars and hide it.

HI

i have ipad with iOS 7.11 and my problem is with the exchange calendar. The exchange account was once configured on my iPad, and I have deleted it.

It no longer exists on my iPad, but the calendar is refusing to remove this account.

All calendar events are there. I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for the storage. The iPad claims that my calendar takes more than 6GB of storage!! And I have no way to delete it. This is SUPER frustrating, as I'm using a 16gb iPad and my storage is full (I've deleted all other significant apps+data).

Please help!!!!

I still can't remove my "automatically added" holiday Calendar. To add to the irritation, it's a calendar for holidays in Spain, but it's in Catalonian. Whoever did this, either was very ignorant of the difference between Spanish and Catalonian, or they're trying to play a bad joke, since it's known by all the continuos efforts on the part of Catalonians to be separated from Spain. I can't figure out how to remove it, and it also shows up on other apps that use calendars. Pretty sucky for apple to do this and not even check if the language is right.

update: I changed the region to Germany, where I live now, although I kept the English language. Indeed, it now has added the German holiday calendar. I'd rather have this than having the catalonian calendar.
