How do I unsubscribe from calendar in iOS7?

I accidentally subscribed to a calendar that I don't want on my iPhone running iOS 7. I want to try to delete it, but when I click on Calendars, the little information icon only lets me change the name or change the color of the calendar. If I click on edit, then I can click on the little arrow to access that calendar, however my options are the same as before: change the name, or change the color. There is no option to delete this calendar anywhere!! I can delete my other calendars, but it seems that when I have a subscribed calendar that I am permanently stuck with it. Is this a bug of iOS 7, or is there something I'm missing? I know that it's usually the latter, so hopefully someone can help.

Just tried using my daughter's iPhone and I can delete the subscribed calendar.

BTW, I said send yourself another calendar to subscribe not subscribing from somewhere.

This might trigger the delete option.

Did you also tried the basic 4 Rs troubleshooting steps:

Restart:

1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.

2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data

eedrin,

I just installed 7.1 and suddenly UK Holidays appeared as a subscribed calendar. My calendars are synced over icloud but this one only appears on my iphone.

I followed your instructions but there is no "Subscribed Calendars" in the Accounts area.

When I go to Calendart app, the subscribed UK Holiday doesn't give me a delete option.

Any ideas?

Lex,

It is disturbing to have something installed on your device without your consent and no way of getting rid of it.

So, just like nobbse, I want it gone forever. Trying to figure out a way to get rid of not only this particular sub but also any other in the future.

Don't you think so my good friend?

PS= I just updated my ipad. Same MacMini, same download and the subscription is not there as opposed to my iphone. Funny.

I noticed the same thing happening with my iOS devices, except that it was a US Holidays calendar that showed up unexpectedly. I think I found the source of this.

In the OS X Calendar program, go to Preferences --> General, and there is an option labeled "Show Holidays calendar". This option shows Holidays on your OS X calendar, and I guess that it is localized for your country. This is also the calendar that shows up as a subscription in the iOS Calendar app in the "Other" section of your calendar list. I think that you can't unsubscribe from this particular calendar because it is embedded in the OS X Calendar program.

Likewise, there's an option in the OS X calendar labeled "Show Birthdays calendar", which corresponds to a Birthday calendar subscription under "Other" in the iOS Calendar app. You can't unsubscribe from this particular calendar, either.

I found this because I had already subscribed to an external US Holidays calendar subscription, and found that I was getting duplicate entries for US Holidays. I've since unsubscribed to the external US Holidays subscription, and am using the Holidays calendar embedded in the app.
