Wife and I got iPhone 5s units at the same time. She has had hit and miss success with touch ID. I am golden with mine, and also hers when I put a finger into her phone data. She is frustrated, and will delete fingerprints and resestablish on her phone. Her finger scan will work for a few times, and then it gets to be like it doesn't recognize her finger (left thumb or right thumb). Is anybody else having some issues like this?

Unfortunately, my low expectations have been confirmed. After two days, right thumb recognition is zero but left thumb, which I rarely use, is still good.
I agree paulfromhere it works well but very slightly hesitant after touching the sensor button and entering phone. Must say so far seems better.
My phone is showed no signs of improvement whatsoever. Still doing exactly the same thing but it always has.

I thought it must be fixed because of all the positive feedback. Unfortunately, after 2 days of perfect performance, it;s now zero. I'll probably shut it off, as soon as I get some free time.
well .. a lot of pepole are having the same problem but we tried to wibe the touch id sensor (home button) and its work all the time
Joe - please explain exactly what you mean by " a quick retrain from simply hitting sleep/wake a few times". Do you mean repeatedly unlocking/locking the phone? Thanks!

If iPhone 5S was not worth much, I would have long been broke because of this Touch ID.

After a couple days, I see no improvement and recognition is back to zero!
I have the same issue, and I do notice that changed to my fingertips have an impact, unless it's something else. Don't want to swap it out yet if it's going to keep occurring.
No improvement here on ios 8. Still works 100% for the first thirty or so uses, then goes downhill rapidly and I have to delete it and start a new one to get 100% again.
