iPhone 5S freezing

Anyone experiencing freezing issues with their iPhone 5S? Sometimes my phone would just reboot out of the blue or freeze up where i would have to hard reboot it. I don't want to restore it as new due to an app i need for work call Mobilepass. I have tried resetting all settings didn't resolved the issues. Just wondering. Thank you in advance for any inputs you have. 😀

Hello Solid5nake,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

Sounds like we have some unexpected behaviour from this iPhone 5s here becoming unresponsive, and restarting on its own. After having reset all settings, next I would reset the phone:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

If your device stops responding, you can reset it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If the issue persists, I would try and take note if it happens when you are in a certain app, and if so, would suggest this article to help you troubleshoot that app.

iOS: Troubleshooting apps purchased from the App Store

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702

If the issue occurrs no matter what you do, then it does look like the next step would be to backup and restore the device with iTunes.

I am having the same issue. Constant freezing. Although mine has not rebooted more than 3 times. I've had my phone since October 5th and my problems started about a week later. I thought I was imagining it as my 4S hardly ever froze. I don't know where this problem is coming from but if it's software related Apple needs to fix it asap. If it's a glitch on some phones. Then Apple needs to replace them without any hassle, So far I wonder if my 4S was better since it didn't give me any problems. I've tried the reset phone tactics and reset it from factory. Still no luck. If by the next update. It doesn't fix. I will get Apple to replace it. Doesn't make sense to keep an Apple product that is giving me a problems.

Hi snake!

The reason why all the 5s's are crashing because 7.0.2. is not working well! I had the same issue, than Apple swap it for me because I had some problem with the audio output! When I got the new phone, I left it on the original ios7.0, as I did not updated it!

I think Apple plays a dangerous game, and people stars loosing their faith in Apple, since ios6 every update criple an older device, like my i4 become a laggy old cripled phone under 6.1.3... I am wondering which ios will make me hate my new 5s? I will leave it on 7.0 till major apps will require to change it!

Im sorry to hear your issues, my apple geek friend has the same issues! I just can say only one thing!

CHANGE THE PHONE AT THE APPLE STORE(if thats the case complain wifi issues and 3g problems or headphone output), and KEEP your 5s on 7.0!!! You can restore from your old backup! It will work!!! TRUST ME!!! I even did not turn off my phone the last two week!!!!

I am sorry to hear that you have problems, and there is no apple store in your country. I am sure there will be an update which will help on i5s users who has problems with 7.0.3. turning of background app updates, icloud backup(i did it on mine), could resolve your problems.Icloud only have my notes and my safari, the rest is off. I am still on 7.0 and there is one app is acting funny.. thats the app store, it never update or download only if I hard reset the phone. I did not swith off or reset my phone for two weeks and when I opened app store, it restarted itself.. If a future update wont solve ur problem, you must call apple support, and ask them whats going on, maybe yo need to come back for sort holyday! Thay will change your phone, dont worry, but dont update it till a good ios version comes out!

I started having this issue after an update to 7.0.3 (but it didn't seem to be related to that because it started days after the update). Over this past weekend it got really bad. I did nothing -- lots of apps have updated since then -- and it stopped happening around Sunday night. I noticed that nearly all of my apps are now asking for reauthorization to access whatever they need again (location, contacts, etc.)... Strange..

I'm having the same problem, but for me it started happening after I updated to 7.0.4. It hasn't been as bad as for some others described above - it froze twice and once rebooted on its own without me doing anything - but I fear this is only the beginning. Hopefully Apple recognizes this as an issue and comes out with a fix.

I have the same problem (phone turning off by it self and only awake using hard reset). There was a time when the phone worked properly; i turned off 'find my iphone'. After awhile i turned 'find my iphone' back on and it happed again. I sent my phone to Apple care center to analyse the problem, but of course they could not find it. My iphone issue only happens occasionally. If the problem persist, then i will turn off 'find my iphone' permanently. I don't know if 'find my iphone' is causing this. If so please do something about it.

Another option is to delete all your apps and reinstalling 1 by 1. After each app, take some time to see if the app is causing the problem, if not install the next 1 (can take awhile if you have alot of apps).

I've been having similar issues with my 5S. My keyboard freezes and makes it impossible to type in the messaging app sometimes. My phone has also randomly rebooted itself. im on 7.0.4. I tried everything recommended except a complete restore, thats what I am going to try next. Im really upset that apple dropped its standards since the iPhone 4 came out. I miss Steve Jobs 😟

I got my iphone on 19th December and since then my phone has been hanging a lot. There have been more than 4 times that the phone has frozen and restarted. My software is 7.0.4. I have deleted the apps that makes freezing to happen. It could be that they are no optimized for iOS7, but even then why would the touchscreen be unresponsive at times and a game like angry birds go hang and a game like Deer Hunter 2014 stop loading completely out of the blue moon. I have mailed the developer of Deer Hunter but I wont do that with any other app because I feel that its not the apps but its the phone that is causing me problems. I am using an iphone first time in my life and this is what I am getting in a welcome drink.
