You access Airplay through the Control Center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the Control Center.
I did that it doesn't show up like it says on the support page
Check Settings>Control Center and make sure it's enabled.
It isn't showing anything there about airplay just on and off to access the control center while in an app
Yes. Make sure the Control Center is enabled. Then, access the Control Center by swiping up from the bottorm of the screen. That's where you'll find the Airplay setting.
Thank you for trying to help but that don't work I've been trying to figure it out all day because it worked fine yesterday . I have not seen anything about airplay on my phone yet
Same problem here. Worked fine yesterday, now just audio and message stating display is not supported. iPhone 4, iOS7 and latest Netflix app update. Using apple hdmi adapter to projector for display.
I know this question sounds elementary, but have you checked to make sure that both devices are on the same WiFi network?
I encountered the same problem this evening, with the same "disable mirroring" message. I did find the control center but nothing about "mirroring"
Pretty sure I read earlier that mirroring was introduced on the 4S so iPhone 4 and older aren't supported. That's also why amazon streaming video doesn't work pre-4S. Pain in the a**.
I am not using wifi I have always used a cord
I'm also having the same problem, and can't seem to find a cure anywhere!
Might have some good news for some of you. I just essentially rolled back the Netflix app on my phone to the previous version. Here's how:
First removed the Netflix app (v5) from my phone.
Next sync'd iPhone with stored version (4.3.1) of Netflix in my iTunes account. It's critical that the sync happens BEFORE iTunes automatically updates the Netflix app to the latest version. In my case I had a number of apps in my iTunes account that needed updating which provided more than enough time for the sync to complete.
Good luck to the rest of you. I hope this proves helpful.
Cheers,
Tony
Hi,
After spending most of the day on and off the phone to apple support, I am happy to report that this has worked.
Am slightly more concerned that when other streaming apps update the problem will resurface.
The lovely people at apple were shocked that the airplay icon is no longer available when a digital av adaptor is connected, thus not giving the option to turn off mirroring.
Fingers crossed the next ios update might address this issue.
Thanks,
Tony.
I'm guessing the cure you are referring to is TC1911S's solution of rolling back to an earlier version of Netflix.
On a second note, I found that streaming worked great with Hulu+, which surprised me.
