Netflix streaming issue after Apple TV update to 6.0

I updated my Apple TV last night to the latest version. 6.0 6646.65. I have a second generation Apple TV. Up until that time everything g was working just fine. After the update which took a very long time by the way, my netflix streaming has become ridiculously slow. It now seems to buffer a very long tie before starting to show the content. Sometimes it will go on for 10 20 minutes or longer before something starts to stream. I know it's not netflix be be air I can stream

Constent on my other boxes (ie samsung blue ray 0player). I also know that it was working just finery same day before the latest update.

So why is it this slow now? What can be done to fix this? Essentially it is pointless to try an use it at this point.

My streaming speed is 10 to 15 Mbps download, and it is wifi connected.

I did a hard reboot twice and that didn't seem to help either.

Anyone experiencing this and have any suggestions/fixes that works for them?

I'll add to this... Equally frustrated, HBO GO and Netflix are taking forever to load. Constantly getting the "Accessing Netflix" / "Accessing HBO GO" message where I didn't have that before. PC shows almost 15 down 3 up... Speed is not an issue.

Was so pleased with the AppleTV product until now. It helped convert me from a PC guy to Apple product owner... Now its a major let down.

Anyone else have luck with this?

I just hate apple. I seriously believe every time they send an update, they intentionally create problems with other providers so some how they force you to use their products. My old iPhones started working because the updates, and now it happened again ego my Apple TV. Now Netflix des work at all, when it use to be perfect. Apple should allow people to go back to old versions. Overall is a ridiculous monopoly and we are just the fools letting them do what they want. I just want to play my :(!:@@/ movies as I was p,aging them before. Is that too much to ask for? Any help solving the Netflix problem will be appreciated.

I have buffering issue too and it buffers on my home network too. Had worked fine up to a bit ago. Not exactly sure when the issue began but I have comcast and super fast network and my home network is fast and has not buffered at all on any thing for a very long time. Been great since I upgraded to comcast. My home network NEVER buffered. Have restarted twice and no change. Restarted my home network and comcast too. Still not resolved. This ****** me off since I paid for some new movies and cant watch them. Buffering is horrible. Have not had it on for a couple days now. Any new updates from Apple yet?

My Apple TV Netflix performance dropped after the recent silent update that added progress bars for Netflix content. I use Comcast and routinely get 50+ Mbps down. The Apple TV went from being my best device for streaming netflix to my worst. Luckily I can still get solid performance from my PS3. The poor performance on the Apple TV seems limited to netflix since iCloud streaming (season passes) and Hulu seem to still perform as well as ever. Very strange since I had been getting super HD streaming quality until very recently. Netflix performance has been consistently terrible for well over a week.

I agree with you! Once Netflix updated with the progress bars - probably the most noticeable component of the update, quality went down horribly on Netflix on ATV. I may only get 2-6 seconds of HD, then it buffers for about 20 seconds and looks terrible, very low quality SD. I also have Comcast, get around 60Mbps, using AirPort Extreme as well, and have great quality on everything else. There's now a major flaw with Apple TV and Netflix that needs to get resolved.

Additionally, I restarted 3 times, nothing helped. Neither wireless or ethernet make a difference for ATV Netlfix quality.

Throwing my hat in the ring as having the same problem. Used to get SuperHD quality from Netflix, but since the progress indicators showed up, the quality is terrible. Other services seem fine. Watching Netflix in Safari is also fine (used shift-option-click, stream manager to verify playing and buffering at highest rate). Restarting the Apple TV doesn't help. Have Time Warner 30 Mbps service and Airport Express base station.

I hope someone from Apple and/or Netflix hears our cries and fixes this. As it is it's unwatchable for me.
