After updating my macbook from OS X 10.8.4 to OS X 10.8.5, I have been experiencing automatic logout and quit all applications every 5 minutes specially during idle period. Although, the password requires to be activated after sleep or screen saver begins from General Tab of Security & Privacy pane is 1 hour. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a preference to log out after a certain amount of time. Check Security System Prefs. I think it is buried in there somewhere. I'm on an iPad at the moment, so can't check for it.
I don't know how it would have been activated with the update. It shouldn't have.
Hi Eric, my System Preferences settings are as follows: Security & Privacy = 1 hour, Desktop & Screen Saver/ Screen Saver = 20 min. and Energy Saver for both Battery & Power Adapter = 15 min. Concerning the schedule for the Energy Saver pane, it is disabled.
Check System Preferences/Energy Saver and Desktop & Screen Saver/Screen Saver to see what times you have set for the computer to sleep and for the Screen Saver to start.
Hi Eric, the time required to logout after minutes of inactivity is 10 min.
I adjusted this to 1 hour, I hope it will solve the problem.
