how do i run boson ccnp netsim on macbook pro

hi guys, I recently purchased a Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion OSX and would like to run a network-simulation-software called `Boson Netsim 9 CCNP.` Boson`s support states this software only runs on either a `Windows 7` OR `Windows 8 Pro` platform. Many of my colleagues have suggested three options :- i) Virtual Box ii) Parallels Or iii) Dual Boot my Macbook using Bootcamp. Could you please suggest the best way to go about this?

For some peoples needs, I suggest running Windows as a virtual machine. In your case, however, I would recommend using Boot Camp.

As an aside, I prefer Windows 7 64-bit over Windows 8.

If the software requires maximum performance OR direct access to devices, you will need to go the route of BootCamp and dedicate a bit of you expensive SSD to the House of Redmond.

If at all possible, running Windows virtualized will prove to be much more flexible in many aspects (save top performance and direct device access). As you have been inforned, there are several alternatives: Oracle VirtualBox (free), VMWare Fusion ($50) or Parallels Desktop ($90). If this alternative floats your boat, you would do well to try out VirtualBox first and see if it satisfies your need without further investment save the Windows license (which you need in any case).
