How to add an older HP 430 plotter to the printer list & start printing

I have the software drivers in the classic system folder, and I just bought adapters to go from the round serial end of the plotter's cable (a parallel plug at the plotter side) to USB. I don't understand how to get the printer into the printer selection window

Doesn't Compute, welcome, you probably need to go to the HP web sites and download the OSX drivers for your 430.

If you can not find them take a look here, I was able to keep a few older machine in service with the CUPS downloads from this site.

I don't know about the Serial to USB adapter but I tried a parallel to USB adapter and had absolutely no success. I ended up using a Parallel Print Server thru IP printing and now everything is fine. Good lock.
