Lightening strike killed Ethernet connection and more?

That is kind of you to offer your spare card. I was able to use the Netgear card and it's working so I think I'm good to go. My husband whined that I had stolen it from him 😟 . He should take a clue from you and cultivate that generosity thing! I think he was kidding, but I'm never sure. I think he was thinking of getting his money back when it didn't work on the PC, but he'd probably never get around to doing that anyway!

Maybe someone else struggling with the after effects of a lightning strike could use your spare card. There were more posts about this kind of problem than I anticipated seeing, so I'm sure you'll get the chance.

In your search for the truth did you happen to see if the NetGear GA311 will work on a OS 10.3.9????

I cannot testify that it will work on 10.3.9. My G4 is running Tiger. I think it is up to 10.4.4 at least. I wish I could say definitively for you, but have no way of verifying it.

In doing research while I was still trying to make the card work on my machine, I did find several sites that offered drivers and such for different video cards that are unsupported or need a driver that doesn't come with the operating system. I'm not at home at the moment, where I have these sites bookmarked, so I can't tell you URLs, but I will post them tonight (after 7 p.m. EST) for your reference.
