why is my iCal changing calendar colors? when i change it back it changes it again. help!

My iCal is spontaneously changing colors. It started this evening. My work category is normally green. iCal changed it to purple. I changed it back to green. A few minutes/seconds later it changed it back to purple. I have gone through multiple iterations of this back and forth! Help. Can anyone tell me how to fix this please? Thanks so much!

Same issue here, only I use the broader variety of colors available on my iMac rather than the limited, silly "candy-colors" available in iOS7. In the past my iMac-set colors (including black, royal blue, and other more 'professional' looking colors) trumped the very limited set of colors available in iOS. Now iOS has a mind of its own and resets calendar colors to whatever it feels like.

I like to use black or gray to denote work-related calendars, a deep or royal blue for personal calendars, orange for my SF-Giants schedule, and red for my SF-49ers schedule.

I tried unlinking each device (iMac, iPhone, iPad) from iCloud to try to change the iMac's colors to what I wish, but iMac (or iCloud) just keeps changing them back.

Very, very annoying and not what I expect from Apple.

Me too, started about a week ago.

I have multiple calendars on my Mountain Lion and Lion mac's that sync up to family members calendars (wife, two kids from iCloud. All of them have changed to the "other" color (purple) on my mac starting last week

If I log into the web interface of icloud the calendars are also that color there. If I try to change them the change does not stick on icloud.

Looks like this happened with the rollout of the new icloud look and feel for ios7. Incredibly frustrating that something that worked perfect a few weeks ago is now a mess and I can't tell one calendar from the other.

Apple, FIX THIS!

REPOST...

I figured out ONE thing in reference to all of our issues with iCal. The color issue is CONFINED to the TWO original list "home" and "work". When I create NEW list, the colors with hold.

Also I have learned that once I TRANSFER all my info off the lists that will not hold colors to a "new list" you CANNOT delete the lists that WILL NOT HOLD the colors.

So a temporary fix would be ....

1) Make a "new calendar" to the color you want

2) Export the calendar that you CANNOT keep the color you want

3) Import the "exported list" to the new calendar

You will still be stuck with the TWO CALENDARS that will not hold the colors you want, but you can de-selected them and not have to deal with them on your iCal,.

I have found a Work Around.....

The color issue is CONFINED to the TWO ORIGINAL CALENDARS "home" and "work". When I create NEW calendars, the colors with hold.

Also I have learned that once I TRANSFER all my info off the calenders that will not hold colors to a "new calendar" everything will work. I then just DELETE OFF the two calendars that keep changing colors.

So here is a step by step fix ....

1) Make a "new calendar" and select the color you want

2) Export the calendar that you CANNOT keep the color you want to your desktop

3) Import the "exported calendar" to the new calendar

4) Then DELETE the calendars that KEEP changing colors.

5) Rename your NEW CALENDAR back to the way you want it.

This has SOLVED all my problems.
