I can print wirelessly using my new Canon MX922 Multifunction printer/scanner/fax. My iMac doesn't seem to recognize the fax function. I would like to be able to send documents straight to the fax without printing them first. Can anyone help?

These have proven to not be accurate, at least for Canon.
Actually, as PAHU stated, there are NO FAX drivers for ANY Canon printers for Mac OS.
Too bad because I like Canon printers but have to use HP just to get faxing functionality from my Mac.

Did you download drivers or install the software from the CD that came with the machine? When I did the former on my Canon printer I did not see full functionality. When I did the latter everthing worked.
There is no fax driver for this model (or any current Canon MX model) for OS X so there is no ability to fax directly from the Mac.
If your printer supports it, you could try to fax using the printer's control screen (it has to be connected to a landline for this to work). I can fax directly from my Epson using the LCD touch screen and inserting the paper into the sheet feeder.
Has this changed at all? When I look at the list publshied by Apple for this printer here: Printer and scanner software for macOS Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, and Mavericks - Apple Support for the MX920 series, it lists Fax as supported via software (updated as of Oct 6, 2016, yet it says at the bottom published Dec 15, 2016). The listed driver version is 13.7.1.0 but when I go to the Canon website here: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/inkje t-multifunction/mx-series-inkjet/mx922?t…, it lists the version as 16.10.0.0 (for Mac OS X 10.7-10.12), but the previous version is listed as 11.7.1.0 (includes Mac OS X 10.6.8).
So is the Apple list correct? Is it up to date? Does the new driver from Canon (16.10.0.0) support Fax from Mac OS?
I am currently on Mac OS 10.6.8 (which only supports diver v11.7.1.0) but am willing to upgrade my Mac OS if the new driver will operate the Fax from Mac OS.
Please advise.
I just tested the v16.10 driver from Canon USA on Sierra. It is just a printer driver as mentioned on their site. No faxing option is provided so the list from Apple is incorrect. There is still no Canon provided solution to fax from the Mac via the Canon MX series.

Sending a Fax via Mac OS X requires a USB modem...as of Sierra, USB modems are no longer supported.

Or write your own third party software. Delrina FAX and Smileonyourmac were older FAX software that were made for the Mac, but are either no longer supported, or no longer exist.

Interesting, and good to know just in case. Unfortunately, does not solve my problem with the MX922 (or ANY Canon printer).
Not sure how running Server version solves the problem? I do not have trouble printing to this printer...just lack a FAX driver to fax from the computer.
