I can print wirelessly using my new Canon MX922 Multifunction printer/scanner/fax. My iMac doesn't seem to recognize the fax function. I would like to be able to send documents straight to the fax without printing them first. Can anyone help?

Because Server will allow you access to the drivers that supported FAX. Remember, it is the Sierra drivers that lacked them. The Print command allowing FAX was available in Snow Leopard.
Well actually, I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. I have access to FAX via the print command BUT it is only available for my HP printer, NOT the Canon. When digging into it, it is only available because the FAX driver is supplied for the HP printer by HP. I suspect that any drivers with the server version are still only the ones supplied by the manufacturers, not anything that Apple built into the Mac OS. Therefore, I do not believe there i any other solution other than the ones made available by Canon, unless you have any evidence to the contrary.
Anyway, I need to move off of OS 10.6.8 because I need to run other software that will not run on Snow Leopard, so that is not a long term solution, even server would work.

I was looking to do the same thing with the MX922 on OSX and I recently confirmed with Canon tech support that they do not have a fax driver for this printer model. Therefore, it cannot be done.
But that was in 2013 and he stated it was regarding current MX models. Canon actually mentioned while on the phone that they have newer printers with this capability.
