ipad2 lost sound after ios7 update

IPad2 lost sound after ios7 update. Here is what I know whas happened...

AirPlay will not show iPAD as an audio option.
Its not the connector, too many people with the same issue after the iOS Upadte for all of us to start having corrosion issues
I've restored 3 times and it works for about a day then stops
I've tried the "Fooling" it's docked and then Undock technique... This should be a non issue. Apple, It's supposed to freakin just work.

I've tried sucking and blowing on the connector as one post states to do

This is simple, it's an iOS7 issue. It's not a hardware issue, its an operating system issue. Fix it apple. There are too many people with the same problem and no fix from you...

No sound and curiously no sound bar showing up on the screen when I do try to increase or decrease sound. I have done all of the suggestions numerous times, including restarting and updating on computer. The only sound I can get is when I go to settings>sounds> ringtones. Now why do I have ringtones on my ipad?

Anyway, no fixes, nothing from Apple and it is totally frustrating. Will call them tomorrow.

I went to the Apple store (FREE appointment with the Genuis bar if you need it, go). Believe it or not, after literally 3 hours on line with support, the guy at the store took my ipad, blew out the 30pin port (where you plug in your adapter) and that was it! He said lint gets in these and keeps the sound from working. Also, check your earplug to make sure it is not clogged.

Worked for me, I am back up and running.

Best of luck

I had sound but it was horrible. And through the headphones was worse. Found this on another thread and it worked for me, even after turning off an don again.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

The button is on the endogenous of the device and the round button on the front for those who do not know. I have and ipad2 and so Farsi good.

Newest fix. Just back from the 'Genius bar' with my ipad, which is an ipad 3. My problem apparently is a bad sound chip... and will cost $299. to fix! but the guy working today showed me a work around. I have the camera connection kit from apple and when I plug it into the 30pin slot, I GET ITUNES WORKING! Ok, not a great fix, but it works and I will not spend $300 on a part that I think should never have gone out. Even genius guy said it was weird.

So, if your sound still isn't working and you have this camera connection kit, try it. They have them at the genius bar and used a test one for me first to make sure this would work.

Apple really needs to fix this problem there are over 4K people talking about this!

You may not believe this tried all kinds of things, found a reply on the forum as to loss of sound on ipad2.put alcohol the end off the charger cable and put this in the charger port,up and running well ,I just smeared Vodka on my finger then onto the charger plug? It worked a treat hope it works for others.

I have an iPad2 and an iPhone 4s - I am experiencing the loss of sound on the iPad2 but it's not a total loss of sound.. this is only happening on some apps and some videos that are on some websites. There is not real rhyme or reason that I can determine. I have sound when playing iTunes music but not within certain games.. i.e. bejewled blitz and Candy Crush are two which have not sound. This is not the case .....

Wow, nevermind... Wife just handed me the iPad which is hers... MUTE BUTTON WAS ON!
