iTunes Library Extras.itdb Error

I have just recieved an error for itunes:

"The iTunes Library Extras.itdb file is locked, on locked disc or you do not have write permissions for this file"

My iTunes library, which is truly massive, is on a Time Capsule, which I use as a server.

I've tried to copy the .itdb file to desktop and then move it back into place. This had no effect.

I've tried changing the securities on the folder (were read and write anyway). This had no effect.

Naturally, I have rebooted several times.

Anyone have a suggestion here? These are the only suggestions I could find on the forum, but they are ineffective. It was also suggested to copy the entire itunes folder to desktop and then copy it back, but due to the massive size, this is not possible.

iTunes is the most recent version 11.1.1

Not sure if this applies to you, but in my case the message related to having two computers wanting to open iTunes at the same time. Our iTunes library is on the Time Capsule as well, and we had just connected a second MacBook to the library. Then I started getting the message and tried all these suggestions. Then I figured out that only one of us could have iTunes opened at a time. So if my son had iTunes opened, I would get the error message about the library extra's file being locked. Once he quit iTunes, I was able to open iTunes on my MacBook without any problem. So now we just need to make sure the other person has closed down iTunes if the other person needs to access the library.
