This is easily solvable.

It's possible the uTube got misplaced. Go to the App Store, and go to Purchased (which is adjacent to Updates). You'll see a list of your current apps, and YouTube should be among them. If a cloud appears, that means you should redownload it to your device. if "Open" appears, tap on that.

If there are further problems, we can fix that - but let's take this one step at a time.

Let's try and see if it is indeed onboard. Use Spotlight for the task. Drag finger down starting from the middle of the screen: that will drop down Spotlight's search box, where you'll type YouTube (and watch the search occurring live as you type). It will also tell you where it is, IF it is.

If it doesn't work, may be cause it has not been upgraded for iOS 7 (there WAS an update). So, we'll delete it for sure in a roundabout way: go Settings / General / Usage and look for it in the list under Storage. If it doesn't appear in the summary list, tap on Show All Apps to expand. Tap on the YouTube name to visit the next screen where you'll see the version number (which currently is v2.1.0), the space occupied and, most important, the Delete App control. Tap on that and it will begone. Now you can download it afresh from the App Store.

I have the same problem and found and deleted the Youtube app in the Settings / General / Usage and reset my ipad mini just to be sure but I am still unable to download the Youtube App. It shows as if it's downloaded already but is no longer showing. I've tried looking under 'Purchased' in the Apps store but it's not showing there either. I'm baffled. Pls help.

Let's try this. On your iPad, open the App Store, and look on lower portion of the screen for the "Purchased" icon. You will find YouTube there, I guarantee it. You'll see an icon of YouTube, and on the right hand side, a download icon. That's where you'll be able to redownload the app.

If it's not there (as you'd indicated), then you can redownload it by typing (or tapping) on the entry field on the right upper corner.

If you still can't see it, try looking twice on your iPad's desktop, and see if it's hidden in a folder. Performing a Spotlight search is best for this.

I have this problem too. The glitch (or as far as I can figure) happens when YouTube was blocked in Restrictions when YouTube was taken off of default apps on iDevices (because of the whole Google-Apple thing). For some reason some conflict still exists in iOS7 and that is why it doesn't work. I don't have a solution. I work around it by using the Gmail app to open a link to YouTube which triggers the YouTube app. Not permanent though, the icon will dissapear shortly afterwards or may not show up on the home screen at all.

Good Luck!

Hey there! I was just having the same problem on my iPad 4. I have YouTube app downloaded on my iPad but it wasn't showing up on the home screen as an app to open anywhere. When I go to the app store, it shows it is in the app store under "purchased" apps and has "Open" next to it but it is faded out and not able to click OPEN. I had no idea why this was happening on both of my kids' iPads. I did do an update to their IOS software so I just figured that had something to do with it... WRONG! After doing many searches on google, etc to find an answer to my problem, I finally found this very forum I'm typing in. I saw your question Natalaki and it was very similar to my problem. Sooooo.. it wasn't until I read the last person's reply to your question (LightningRacer). He said something about restrictions and that reminded me that I had gone in to my kids' restricions and put on a restriction on their apps for any apps rated for ages 12+. So I went in to their restrictions just now and lifted that and allowed ALL APPS to be working on their iPad and VOILA!!!! The YouTube App now appears on their home screen and is working!!! DUH! I feel so dumb now! That was the problem! YAY!! Thanks LightningRacer!! So anyways, Natalaki... I think you should check your restricions under apps in the restriction section! I'm sure you already solved your problem (hopefully) since your post in this forum was Oct 2013!

Yes, yes, yes! Thank you. I spent so much time looking for the answer. Apple, please make a note in App Store: if the download icon is greyed out, it means your restrictions do not allow the app. A message like that, that would pop up when tapping on the app that can not be downloaded due to settings restriction, would save me lots of time.Otherwise it looks like malfunction.

why i can't open the youtube app in my ipad mini??
