Forum Bug regarding not seeing new posts

I've posted this here as many users are reporting forum issues where they will get a notification of a new post made to a thread but they cannot see it.

This is a forum bug which Apple is aware of... and are trying to resolve but in the meantime here are two (somewhat impractical) fixes i have found...

1) Open the forum on a different Mac or Apple device and the posts will show up... Go back to the original Mac or Apple device and they will not appear unless you make a new post in that thread yourself... after the missing posts.

2) Post a new reply and then any posts made prior to your new reply will show up

It is not a cookie related problem as cleaning out the cookies does not fix the issue Its odd as if this is the case then how is this bug only specific to one Mac? Something must be tracking something, somehow but it doesn't appear to be via cookies....

Quiting and restarting Safari nor restarting your Mac, doesn't fix it either...

If anyone finds any other workarounds, please post them here....

You can set Firefox so that you are continuously signed in ... but the moment you red button the forums in Safari you sign out, at least, that's what I've always found. But in safari, if you make a signed in version of the Apple log-in page, your home page you stay signed in.

What browser are you using?

Has been a problem with safari.

I am using Firefox and have not had the continuous signout problem in a long time. Year?

I use Firefox and Chrome and always sign out/in as a matter of habit.

Workaround ...

How I was able to see my last post!

Not seeing the last post happened to me just now.

I noticed the word Next was not highlighted on the page number list at the bottom right of the page.

I clicked on the last page displayed. In this case, it is the number three ( 3 ).

The last post was displayed.

Here is what I saw when I click from the list of my most recent discussions. Notice the number three ( 3 ) is not highlighted.

Now I clicked on three ( 3 ):

Now: The reason is obvious at least once you look at the numbers -- 23440038#23440038. They are excluding posts after your post. Another example of poor Jive programming. I bet this was put in as a fix to the problem of not going to your post when you clicked on the link. I seem to recall that sometime in the past you had to search for your post.
