Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

I uploaded my pictures to iPhoto, and they were all imported. I then deleted them off of my camera. IPhoto suddenly shut down, and when I reopened it, the pictures were gone, but the album I made was there. Where might the pics be saved?

Just wondering if you guys know if the pictures may have been saved somewhere, or if I can find them in Finder, or anything similar. Any advice?

I have the same problem and I am hoping someone has the answer.

I am just sick about this. iPhoto seems to have simply grayed out the folders it created and since I made the MONUMENTAL mistake of deleting the originals from my iPhone, the photos appear to be gone.

They are gone, just vanished. I am so incredibly frustrated.

Thank you for posting this. If anyone has any clue on how to recover, I would be most appreciative.

SInce the photos are in an album they are also in an event - albums, photos, events, etc are simply different views of the exact same photos in the library - either your event sort is wrong (fix under the view menu ==> sort events) or your camera date/time is incorrect (fix on your camers and for the imported photos use the adjust time/date command) so you can easily find them

The question specifically states that the photos are in the album that was made

All photos in any album are also in an event

Photos in PhotoStream are not automatically impported into iPhoto unless you set the iPhoto preference to do so - if it is not on then you must manually import the photos from PS

Option 1

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.

If that fails:

Option 2

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)

This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.

Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
