Hi, i was going to buy Final Cut Pro X and was wondering if it is discounted on Black Friday? Another question is if i buy now and 10.1 comes out before christmas, am i likely to have to pay for the upgrade? Many Thanks in advance.

maybe not on Fridays, but the cheapest way to purchase FCPX is, to look out for any offers on iTunes Store Gift Cards.
In some promotions, you get a 20% discount… pay 40 for 50 value …
FCP has never been discounted for Black Friday or any other holiday I know of. If you need it, now's as good a time as any.
