Randomly Turns Off

My Macbook just randomly turns off sometimes without me doing anything. Then I'll try and boot it back up and it takes me pressing the button about 3 times for it to finally actually boot up. I have it connected to my power supply the whole time, so I'm positive that it's not a power issue. Any advice?

Oh man i gets better, after reading tons of posts, mine did the same as many other. I jsut lost total picture with my macbook while on phone with a macbook specialist. As i was talking to her i told her of this post and that others had said it would go in these stages.
first: macbook with shutoff for no reason, it will do this a few times at random. Then some time will go by and it will start doing it again, then it will not turn on, will just flash the white led when you press power and then shut its self of. MIne did this nine times ina row. I then pluged it into the wall and and it finally turned on. The tech told me to try run the disk. When i rebooted it turned off for good. Now it does not even turn on, only the back light works on the display and everything else is dead. oh the disk drive makes a bit of noise too. hey guys if you have had the firs t sympotoms of this prepair for major problems. pull al the info you need for the next week of your macbook or macbook pro as you will be sending it in asap. Trust me on this guys its hapening on tons of board and happens in the same order of events. well my dhl box ets here tomorrow so ill ship it out monday. Oh the tech said its more than likly the logic board. Im guessing this based on the born on date or week date. you can see this by clicking the os version under the apple menu and about this mac. Just search the net for it as there all the same. I think its like week 22 or something.

its not software. i did several clean installs, without adding any more programs, and it randomly shuts off. then i add bootcamp, load windows, and even windows randomly shuts off. even running off of the boot cd, before an install, it randomly cuts off... its either the firmware, (which i doubt), or the logic board. i'm pretty sure its the logic board... taking my computer to the apple store tomorrow.

When starting my computer, console has the message "Could not access task for pid 82. You probably need to add user to procmod group
Installation of Virtue's dock extension has failed. Some of Virtue's features will not work as expected."

I did a google search for "Could not access task for pid 82" and found other errors relating to VirtureDesktops

Probably means nothing though.. Im just trying anything..

My BlackBook just died tonight as well. I just got it less than a week ago at Best Buy. It was open box, I should have known better but the cheapscate in me spoke louder. Lesson learned.

I was installing software and suddenly the screen went dark, the DVD drive spun up once or twice but then all I could hear was the moo of the fans turning on and off, on and off. I managed to boot it a couple of times after that, but every time it would die after about 5 minutes. Then it just sat there, pressing the power button would flash the screen, the power light would start blinking, but nothing else would happen.

I still had a CD in there too, and couldn't eject it, none of the methods worked. Finally I came across this post on a blog: http://silvermac.com/blog/2006/dvd-stuck-in-macbook-pro/ It worked like a charm and the CD ejected. However, the MacBook still won't start.

I've currently got the drive hooked up to an external SATA casing I have, and I'm imaging the contents onto my other external drive (amazing how much stuff you can accumulate on a drive in a week). Once that's done I'm popping it back in and heading to Best Buy to see what they're going to do for me (don't have high hopes).

I must say, this is very disappointing.
