What happens when you try to restore from backup?
Did you try both from iTunes backup and iCloud backup?
I don't have iCloud backup, only iTunes. When I try and restore, it says something like "Cannot restore because iPod refused the request". Before I put it back in factory settings it wouldn't perform backups either because it was "incompatable".
Does the iPod work?
Reboot the computer
Try another USB port
Try another cable
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
The iPod worked perfectly fine before the restore-to-factory-settings. I'll try rebooting the computers right now, but the USB looks fine (as well as the cable)
But after you restore to factory setting does the iPod work?
