Had a Genius rebuild my User ID, because nothing responded correctly. Now everything works, but...I still have a grey question mark at the top of every folder I open or create. I have run Repair Permissions, I've reset the global password using Terminal...etc.
Any thoughts?

When it’s time to pick up your computer from the repair shop:
*** Before you leave the repair shop, make sure you have the repair tech(s) power the comp up and demonstrate that it is indeed working & repaired properly to your satisfaction.***
A screenshot may help - but if it's similar to this, at the top of a Finder window...
Then it's simply a shortcut to something that no longer exists - you can Control-Click it & choose 'Remove Item'.
Some of the most perplexing problems have the simplest solutions...when seen through someone else's eyes.
