How to tell time machine to ignore transcoded media?

How to tell time machine to ignore transcoded media? Since they can be generated at any time, there's no need to back it up. But they are not located in a single folder so I can't tell time machine to ignore it.

Hi,

After doing lot of search about a solution to this problem,

I've found a slighty different approach to be able to exclude

folders inside the .fcpbundle FinalCutPro package.... here the simple step:

  • Right click on the .fcpbundle package > "Show Package Contents"
  • Find what folders you want to exclude ( Render Files, Transcoded Media )
  • Select each folders
  • Right click > "Make Alias"
  • Now you see created 'alias' folders, just move them out of the .fcpbundle package ( to Desktop as example )
  • Go back to TimeMachine options to add excluded items
  • Select your created 'aliased' folders

and Voila !

note that you can safely delete the "alias" folders after added them in TimeMachine options,

the path to the 'original' folders are automatically takes in place of the alias.

This has working for me, hope this will be usefull to other one 😉
