My AirDrop is missing
OSX10.8, macbook bought in June'13
The button is missing in the finder sidebar and there's no option in System Preferences anywhere I can find.
how would I fix that?

Hey Estoldt,
Thanks for the question. Let's check to make sure AirDrop is enabled to show in the Finder sidebar:
OS X Mountain Lion: Organize the sidebar
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10918
Customize the list of basic sidebar items
1. Choose Finder > Preferences, and then click Sidebar.
2. Select the items you want to show in the sidebar.
Thanks,
Matt M.
You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is marked solved, less people are likely to look at it. You can link to this one.
Do you have a supported Mac?
Macs that include AirDrop support are the same as, or newer than, the models listed below.
- MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)*
- MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
- MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)*
- iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
- Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
- Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
*The MacBook Pro (17-Inch Late 2008) and the white MacBook (Late 2008) do not support AirDrop.
Thank you very much for the tip.
It saved my day.
