iPhone contacts missing - no names, only numbers

THANKKKKK YOUU SO MUCHHHH - This happend to me the other week and had spent countless hours trying to figure it out

I see you got help. I am having the same problem as of today. My phone was acting up yesterday, it prompted me to enter user name and password. Iall contact info is missing. Can you tell me what you did to fix? thank you!

Thank you so much for the fix. I had searched all over help and the rest of the internet and thought I was going to have to wipe my phone because I couldn't access a previous version of my backup after it automatically backed up with my contacts missing. You're a lifesaver!

I have tried everything. I have toggled the contacts button, restored backups, etc. and STILL nothing has changed. Just like the others, my favorites tab shows the phone numbers but no names for half of my favorite contacts. The weird thing is that let's say the name, John Smith, is missing from my favorites tab but his phone number is there. His name won't show up if I search for it under the contacts tab but if I create a new text message then his name and number will show up there! I'm in desperate need of HELP! I have heard rumors of rogue apps that destroy information and you cannot get it back. Do you know anything about the validity behind that and do you have any other possible solutions for me?

I'm having the EXACT same issue as you.

What did you do to sort it out?

MDJ101, toggle the icloud contacts on and off and THEN turn your phone off and on!!

I recently had this happen to me and I used Siri. I asked to restore contacts and it worked. I don't know anything about Toggle, so hoping this helps. :)

I Finally found it!!

go to settings

then click on iCloud, you will notice that everything is turned off!!

Just turn them on again & all will go back to normal!

NO no need to connect to iTunes because I've done that already & all the apps that where recently downloaded & not backed up were lost plus nothing happened!!

Nice for you to "figure it out," take the time to say so, but not tell anyone else how!

I tried this fix and it eventually worked after multiple attempts and turning on and off my phone. Doesn't everyone find it interesting that the contact are missing except for the FaceBook ones! harumph!

1. Go to icloud.com

2. Save all your contacts on a word doc.

3. Delete the contacts from your phone

4. Save these contacts
