Antwerp,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
The problem belongs to Alaska Airlines.
I am an Alaska Airlines account holder, and have successfully used Safari in the past. Since I just updated to OS X 10.4.7, I was curious about my sign in capability, and after reading your question, I attempted to sign in with Safari Version 2.0.4 (419.3).
This was the warning that I got prior to a sign in attempt...
To sign into My Account the following conditions apply:
• Use of a supported browser:
• Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher
• Netscape 6.0 and higher
•
Safari 1.0 and higher
• JavaScript must be enabled
After I attempted to sign in I got this warning...
To use My Account, the following conditions must exist:
• Use of a supported browser:
• Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher (PC)
• Netscape 6.0 or higher (PC)
• FireFox 1.0 or higher (PC)
• Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher (Mac)
•
Safari 1.0 or higher (Mac)
A
Firefox sign in was by the way, successful.
Next, I reactivated my copy of
Safari Extender and changed the Safari User Agent to Netscape 7.0.2 and was able to login to my account using Safari.
That means the Alaska Air web site is not properly recognizing the most recent version of Safari.
You can either use Firefox, Safari Extender, or contact Alaska Air and let them know that they have a problem to fix.
