rpcinfo on mac?

Trying to use Networker to back up a Mac desktop, Snow Leopard.

rpcinfo -p <mac host> fails, so Networker won't work.

mac user reports that he gets the following, running on his Mac, with the firewall turned off:

rpcinfo -p localhost

results in:

program vers proto port

100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper

100000 2 udp 111 portmapper

390436 1 tcp 8335

390435 1 tcp 9192

390113 1 tcp 7937 nsrexecd

100007 2 udp 606 ypbind

100007 2 tcp 1020 ypbind

BUT,

when he tries

rpcinfo -p <mac hostname>

rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Remote system error - Operation timed out

DNS is working fine, is there some extra firewall? Is the Mac rpcinfo not binding to the IP address?

How to fix?

Thanks.
