iMac late 2013 does not have "Computer sleep" setting in Energy Saver prefs
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion
The display too or just the computer?
Looks like you'll need to contact Apple support on this. With both the late 2013 Haswell iMac and Mavericks you are sort of on the bleeding edge here.
Wish I could offer more help. If you can post back and let us all know what happens.
good luck
BTW there is now a OS X Mavericks community. It's a bit crazy in there right now but you may want to post there and see if anyone else with your hardware configuration is seeing the same thing.
regards
I'm pretty sure it's the Wacom tablet driver. If I remove the mouse from the Wacom tablet, then after the specified time the computer will automatically go to sleep.
Thanks for solving your issue.
Hello folks
I've just encountered this new layout for the Energy Saver pref pane on a late 2013 27" iMac.
I'm guessing you just check the box that says 'Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off', if you don't want it to ever go to sleep. Presumably then the Haswell chip's power management keeps it just barely ticking over.
I checked just the box for that, and also for:
Hard disks to sleep
Wake for network.
-This is on an iMac I need to be able to access through the network at any time.
-Below is the output from pmset -g with the above settings in place, if anyone's interested:
Active Profiles:
AC Power -1*
Currently in use:
standby 0
powerbutton 0
womp 1
halfdim 1
hibernatefile /var/vm/sleepimage
autorestart 0
networkoversleep 0
disksleep 10
sleep 0 (sleep prevented by 31)
autopoweroffdelay 14400
hibernatemode 0
autopoweroff 1
ttyskeepawake 1
displaysleep 17
standbydelay 10800
Brand new rMBP 13. Only one slider for display.
What would happen if you set the display off after 30min (for example) and then click the box 'prevent computer from sleeping.... '.
Will the display go off after 30min and keep the computer running? So it will accomplish the same thing as sliding the old second slider 'Computer sleep' to Never?
My problem is definitely the Wacom tablet. You are correct that the display will sleep but the computer never will. The checkbox tells the computer to sleep, the slider tells the display sleep.
Do you have to unplug the tablet or just remove the mouse?
Did you see anything on Console indicating that the Waxom was to blame?
Remove the mouse, but my final solution is to sell the tablet.
Perhaps you should let Wacom know. What a waste - even if you got a good price.
Far too many other problems related to the Wacom tablet. Plus I use the mouse and Wacom has abandoned that device. Time for me to move on. I made them aware of all the problems back in early November and yet still no driver update as of today. I'm not concerned how much money I get for the tablet.
edit "/S/L/E/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/X86PlatformPlugin.kext/*** tents/Resources/Your-Mac-Model.plist"
find:
<key>UnifiedSleepSliderPref</key>
<true/>
replace:
<key>UnifiedSleepSliderPref</key>
<false/>
rebuild kext cache and reboot. 😝
I sold all my Wacom Tablets, removed their software, and my problems are gone. I am not sad.
I see what you are trying to do..
tried to do it.. however i dont have "permission" to modify/delete the file
tried to take ownership.. did the whole unlock thing, I couldnt
even accessed root user but still couldnt take ownership of the folder or plist file
