iMac late 2013 does not have "Computer sleep" setting in Energy Saver prefs

I seem to be missing the "Computer sleep" setting in my Energy Saver pref window. All I see is "Turn display off after" setting. The computer does go to sleep. Is this a change that was made for recent iMacs?

The display too or just the computer?

Looks like you'll need to contact Apple support on this. With both the late 2013 Haswell iMac and Mavericks you are sort of on the bleeding edge here.

Wish I could offer more help. If you can post back and let us all know what happens.

good luck

BTW there is now a OS X Mavericks community. It's a bit crazy in there right now but you may want to post there and see if anyone else with your hardware configuration is seeing the same thing.

Hello folks

I've just encountered this new layout for the Energy Saver pref pane on a late 2013 27" iMac.

I'm guessing you just check the box that says 'Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off', if you don't want it to ever go to sleep. Presumably then the Haswell chip's power management keeps it just barely ticking over.

I checked just the box for that, and also for:

Hard disks to sleep

Wake for network.

-This is on an iMac I need to be able to access through the network at any time.

-Below is the output from pmset -g with the above settings in place, if anyone's interested:

Active Profiles:

AC Power -1*

Currently in use:

standby 0

powerbutton 0

womp 1

halfdim 1

hibernatefile /var/vm/sleepimage

autorestart 0

networkoversleep 0

disksleep 10

sleep 0 (sleep prevented by 31)

autopoweroffdelay 14400

hibernatemode 0

autopoweroff 1

ttyskeepawake 1

displaysleep 17

standbydelay 10800

Brand new rMBP 13. Only one slider for display.

What would happen if you set the display off after 30min (for example) and then click the box 'prevent computer from sleeping.... '.

Will the display go off after 30min and keep the computer running? So it will accomplish the same thing as sliding the old second slider 'Computer sleep' to Never?
