How to locally sync an iPhone with OS X Mavericks? iCloud is NOT an option.

2. Why do you think you have to use Cloud Services at all?

3. You don't use Internet browsing, email, social media, mobile phone calls or texts then? Because anything that involves electronic communication is open to the possibility of data theft.

Whether you understand it or not, there are professions that are precluded from storing client data on computers not in their control. Some of those professionals need a way to sync their devices. Some of those professionals are a bit too busy to run their own servers or to institute some other round-about way to acheive what they had before this change. It does not mean they are not using email, texts, or mobile phone calls.

I don't understand why, throughout this thread, you haven't been able to grasp that fact.

Yes, the feedback channel is the correct avenue and may see the return of the feature in a future update if enough people give feedback. That has been said from the outset.. iCloud will still be around for the 320 million iCloud accounts, luckily.

How do you interpret that? Apple will make their decision on feedback given in their feedback channel. Not here. I fail to see your point. Also, why will this thread be closed down?

What is why you do this?

Let me make myself clear, I have been a Unix administrator for over 30 years. I use the Internet and have used it since the mid 80's. I am very careful what service and what companies I trust. I don't want to trust my notes, SMS messages, contacts and such to yet another company. For my phone to function I have to trust my phone carrier and we have seen how well those folks have kept things private, NOT. I want to back up my data to my private storage where my rights are well defined. Data storage at a third party has yet to be fully tested in the courts.

I'm done here. This is a religious discussion without rationality. No one wins.

Yes the feedback site is the place but what makes you so sirton/shoure of the point you keep making "Not here"? Is it not posable that some people from Apple might see the posts here?
