How to locally sync an iPhone with OS X Mavericks? iCloud is NOT an option.

I am surviving fine with five Macs all using Mavericks, two iPhones and an iPad and have never used the cloud.Everything is in sync. 😁

So how do you sync without iCloud then?

You can set up OS X Server if you want. $20 and a little work.

USB cable, through iTunes. As I always have. Using Mavericks and the latest iTunes.

Reading and comprehending is fundamental ...

I am naïve in such dark arts but I have sneaking suspicions that the SyncServices Framework 8 that lurks within the depths of Mavericks might be somehow modifiable.

Or perhaps the SyncServices Framework 7 from Mountain Lion might work if it was reunited with Mavericks somehow.

Perhaps there are infinitely more learned folk who could discuss/debunk such ideas?

have you signed THE petition yet? Besides of wating for a third-party company to bring us back local syncing, this petition might be the only chance to convince Apple that they're on the wrong path.
