My ipod is only showing the Apple Icon and wont turn on past that. It also won't connect to my computer so I can't restore it. What Should I do? Should I go to an Apple store and have them take a look at it?

Have you tried a reset (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the device turns off and then the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). See if once you do that, the Home screen redisplays after it resets.

But I would try the suggestion by: gail from maine on this thread for a reset first.

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

what if your home button stopped working

Then you would need to take it to the Apple Store to have it repaired.
