The iTunes repair loop is normal and unrelated. Open up Activity Monitor. At the bottom of the window, select the 'System Memory Tab'. What numbers are reported under 'Page outs' and 'Swap Used'. Note these numbers reset upon reboot, so if you immediately restarted your machine, the readings will not be reliable. Use your machine as you normally would for 15 minutes if this is the case.

Things you need to get rid of immediately:

1) Cleanmymac

2) BB Desktop Manager

Uninstall both according to the developer's instructions. You should notice improved performance immediately.

Remove Clean My Mac

BB software is harder to remove as the developer's instructions actually don't disable the launchagent. Here is an alternative link:

Removing the Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac

I just got done cleaning a ton of stuff off my Mac with the help of some people on here. They had me run the same etrecheck and walked me through on what I needed to delete. They also had me download an app in the app store for free, it is called easy find (its a little squirel with a magnifying glass) and it has a search bar and will locate any and all programs and traces of programs for you and gives you the option to delete them. Some I had to drag to the trash bin. It worked for me, not sure if you are still having a problem.

applications hang frequently. Disk Utility keeps repairing iTunes, system libraries and applications, but the next time I start my notebook, again applications hang
