Mavericks was just announced today and before I even think about updating to the newest platform, I need to know if it will be compatible with IWeb or will I be forced to look elsewhere for web software.

I downloaded Cyberduck but can't get it to connect to the server. The host has given me all the information and I've put it in, but it refuses to connect. I think there is a "Mavericks" in my computer eating up my connection information.
Okay, Filezilla finally worked and uploaded the entire site to my host. However, audio will not publish to the folder for upload. It did before I upgraded to Mavericks. Do you think that is the problem?
Does Filezilla give you a Finder like window of your hosting account on the server? If so then find out where the audio files are located in your local publication and manually copy them to the same location on the server. The three FTP clients I suggested all give Finder like windows which makes it easy to upload single files or folders.
The audio file is there but nothing shows up when I access the site. There is no player showing. I think that may be the problem. It used to allow for a media/audio player in IWeb. Now it's not there.
😊 I jumped ship. I was having too many problems with my website and although I'm not completely convinced it was caused by my upgrade to Mavericks, IWeb was getting too frustrating for me. So, I purchased EverWeb, redid all of my websites within it, copied content from IWeb and pasted it into EverWeb and everything worked fine. IWeb was giving me audio and font problems. All of these disappeared in EverWeb. The learning curve wasn't too bad and this software, recently introduced, is improving and evolving every day. Thanks all for your help.
Agreed! It's time to move on from iWeb, unfortunately (and I do think Apple shot have themselves in the foot in ignoring such a large and vocal segment of their customer base).
My question is whether the App store will sell EverWebb?
I've been testing EverWeb (it crashed under OS X 10.9.1 shortly after starting) and from what I can make out there are two "versions": a cheaper version in with which one must publish to a local folder and then use a separate FTP prog to upload to your chisen host; a more expensive version that incorporates uploading, but forces you to upload to EverWeb's own hosting service. I'm really not sure if this is how it works, however, so perhaps you can clear this up. Pricing information can be found at http://www.everwebapp.com/pricing.html

I am transitioning my website to Adobe's Muse. Out of all the options out there is is the App the best fit my needs. I still use iWeb for maintaining a handful of sites. But, for new projects I use Muse and/or wordpress depending on the needs of the site
I am transitioning AWAY from everything Adobe - and their ever-increasingly draconian pricing. Muse alone is $15/month. No photoshop. No Dreamweaver. And if they raise the price after a year to $50/month you will leave with no software on your computer.
Boycott Adobe
I am currently paying $50 a month for CreativeCloud but, that includes all of Adobe's apps. I find $600 a year reasonable. But, my needs may differ from others.
Yes, I agree, it's definitely a good deal if it's your profession. But a lot of users only open photoshop once a week, and dreamweaver once a month. People who've invested years learning and becoming familiar with these programs. I paid full retail for the legal software and then the overpriced upgrades. For my years of loyalty Adobe kicks me in the teeth.
Sorry for venting. Still looking for alternatives.
No worries, webacappella was an alterternitive I was looking at that had some real nice features. It has a photoshopesk feel to it. Might be worth looking at. I do believe they have a free demo/trial
Another good photoshop alternative I've heard of is Pixelmator.
No, they don't sell EverWeb currently. It can only purchased through the Rage Software site.

I've been using it for a couple of months and I'm pleased but have a lot to learn about it. Be aware that they are still adding and upgrading new components. But I think from all that I previewed, this was the closest and best for me.
Does anyone know if IWeb will be compatibile with Mavericks?
