Bootcamp in Mavericks

I'm using 15" Macbook Pro with Retina and I have bootcamp installed. I'm going to upgrade to OS X Mavericks, just wondering if it's going to affect the Bootcamp? Cause I'm screwed if all my software and data is gone in the bootcamp

Hey,

I upgraded to Mavericks a week ago and everything seemed fine. Today I thought well, let's play I game so I tried holding down option during boot and there was no bootcamp partion among the options.

I read your reply about installing reFit which I did and then I was about to make sure my TimeMachine backup was as recent as possible by plugging in my external hard drive. However after maybe ten minutes I get a message that the back up failed becacuse there is not enough space on the drive. In the past TM used to delete the oldest files to make room for new ones but in my Mavericks installation something is strange. I thought, well, I keep this TMB and plugged in another external drive, formatted it and pointed time machine to the new empty drive and same thing happened. Not enough space it says. My Mac partiotion is 500 GB and the external hard drive is also 500 GB and the old TMB is also 500 GB and I've had no problem with it for years. Now I have no Time Machine, No Bootcamp. I am stuck. Can anyone help?

After upgrading the exFAT partition was gone - well, showing error, so unreadable

the Bootcamp partition was there, but windows couldn't boot

my solution: for windows, booting with the windows repair CD, fixing the boot section, and it is now OK

for the exFAT, going to disk utility and repairing the partition

looks like everything's ok now.

bad for Apple, shouldn't event touch other partitions.

Before uprading to Mavarick I changed the Bootcamp partition from 100 GB to 500 GB on the Mac Mini, with Camptune X from Paragon. After upgrading to Mavarick the system worked well. W7 in bootcamp. After this discussion I controlled to day the size of Bootcamp and it is still 500GB.

But some weeks ago I started up in Mavarick and wanted to restart to W7, this was not anymore possible. I had to shut down Mavarick and start up with ALT - key to W7.

Hi... I just made an upgrade on my iMac 20" (early 2009) from 10.8 to 10.9 having Windows 8 in the bootcamp partition (32-Bit !!).

you know what... everything went fine & easy ! 🙂

I was very positively surprised because my iMac does not appear on the compatibilty-list for bootcamp 5

Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows operating Systems

and of course not with a Windows 8 32-Bit Version !

So make a backup of everything and just try

(and no, I didn't change the size of the partitions...

Cheers
