I'm using 15" Macbook Pro with Retina and I have bootcamp installed. I'm going to upgrade to OS X Mavericks, just wondering if it's going to affect the Bootcamp? Cause I'm screwed if all my software and data is gone in the bootcamp

I did upgrade to Mountain Lion last year while I had a Win7 Bootcamp partition on my 17inch MBPro and I lost the partition. Well it was still there but I couldn't access it anymore and had to re-install Win7 bootcamp partition. So I will not upgrade to Mavericks. Let me know if you did and what happened.

What do you mean same boat? I just had a Mac partition and a Bootcamp win7 partition on my internal hdd.
I just installed mavericks and it screwed up my BootCamp too.
I can see a partition in diskutility but i can't access it.
oh shooot for real? dang that's a bad news, anyone know a solution or how to prevent it?
I just finishing upgrading to Mavericks and my BootCamp is still fine. I have windows 8.1 installed on my partition of the HDD and it booted just like it always has.

Going to try and boot off a Windows DVD or USB stick or something.
I upgraded to Mavericks because I was thinking about re-installing all the Windows software anyways and it didn't mess up Bootcamp this time, unlike last year when upgrading to ML the exact same way.
No idea, I hear people install the update on an external hdd bit i just installed it on my mac hd and worked just fine, bootcamp still fully operational.
I just did the upgrade, and the bootcamp is still functioning. yay!
I did it minutes ago. Bootcamp is broken. The partition shows up in disk utilities but is not accessible via alt-start. As a hint: I've changed my partition size some month ago. I seems that the maverick update did not get that.
Wow now that you mention this, Bootcamp broke on my Mac when i upgraded to ML last year and i remember changing my partition sizes. So i had to re-install Windows 7 and Bootcamp on my Mac but I never changed the partition sizes and I just upgraded to Mavericks and now bootcamp is still working fine
