Horrible battery on Maverick

I just picked up a new 13" MBP a few weeks ago and was getting 7 hours of battery life. I upgrade to Maverick a few minutes ago and noticed that it was cut in half!

Anyone else see this kind of loss?

User uploaded fileIs it just from finder indexing my MBP?

There is a very definite problem John.

(I only use safari, no google junk here 😝) I have a 2013 Macbook Pro with Retina 15" 2.7GHz, 512 SSD 16GB RAM and I have run every version of the DP for mavericks with astonishing battery time upgrade right through to GM release.

Since installing the public release I am experiencing abysmal battery performance of four hours max, and that's without any CPU/GPU intensive tasks.
I've reinstalled twice, and am seriously debating formatting and doing a clean install though I'm dubious it will make any difference in honesty. Can we assume that you are having no bad experience with battery drain since upgrading?

Regards,

Gabe.

Same here. Been using my 2013 Macbook Air since July and battery life has been chopped in half since the upgrade.

Reset SMC to get accurate battery time indication

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
  3. On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
  4. Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
  5. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
