How do I send map directions to my iPhone?

I don't see any way to send directions from the Mavericks Maps app to my iPhone. Only options I see are Email, Messages, Airdrop, Twitter and Facebook.

Hi Rob LeFebvre!

Great post here:

I have really been enjoying playing around with Apple Maps on my MBA and then "sharing" them to my iPhone and iPad. BTW, the sharing worked right away after I installed Mavericks. So I have this working except that it seems like my saved bookmarks are not in sync across all of my devices in terms of the number of and names of my bookmarks. They are close but not exact. Have you noticed the same issue and any thoughts if this is a bug or how to fix this?

I had this same problem too. After an hour or more on the pjhone to Apple it transpired that the issue was that I used 2 Apple ID's, one for purchases and one for iCloud.

Although it is not a problem using 2 Apple ID's, on my purchases ID I had used my iCloud email address as an alternate email address. This caused a conflict which meant even though I was signed in on the same icloud on all devices/iMac, the option to send to iPhone/iPad was not available.

To resolve this issue:

I deleted the alternate email address in manage ID's and saved

I also checked my other ID for alternate email addresses and deleted them.

I signed out of iCloud on all devices/iMac and restarted iMac, iPhone and iPad

I signed into iCloud, iMessage, Factime on all devices/iMac

I then restarted all the devices again.

Once all the changes had filtered down the option to send to iPhone, iPad appeared in Maps

I did not lose any data doing this as I selected keep data on device, when given the option.

Hope this helps

I see I'm late to the game here, but I just did the Mavericks upgrade and with some assistance found out about the restart iCloud etc. to get my iPhone to appear on the "Send" list from maps. However, I find that when I open a map sent from the iMac to the iPhone and "Start" the route, it does not behave properly - it just shows the directions until the phone turns off.

Of course, if I enter an address directly into the iPhone Maps app (or select an address from a contact) and start the route, the Map app speaks step by step directions.

So why do I not get the step-by-step spoken directions for maps I sent over from the iMac?

How do I send map directions to my iPhone?
