Loss of Perspective, Scale and other 3D animations with Keynote '13/Mavericks?

Loss of Perspective, Scale and other 3D animations with Keynote '13/Mavericks?

Having just updated my MBP, my nicely animated Keynote pitch has defaulted to "dissolve" animation... ugh... one step forward, two steps back...

Some of the other unique and special Keynote animation are gone... I assume that this is lost functionality for the cause of device compatibility, that said... These really gave a nice look and polish...

Please advise if it's possible to uncover these nice effects!

I finally pinned down the problem:

I created a gradient shape and placed it in the background of a Master slide. This method worked well in Keynote '09 and I could drag all the images I wanted without it appearing as a textbox. In the new version of Keynote, this gradient shape is treated differently, resulting in pasting the URL into this shape -- even though the shape is part of the master template.

Sorry for shifting topics here...
