I can't find it and when I open old documents w/facing pages, they aren't "facing" anymore...

We can hope it makes a comeback. In the meantime, you can continue to use Pages '09 by going to the iWork '09 folder in Applications. I think I will be using both for a while.

I won't. I deleted Pages 5 from my Mac, sticking with 4.3 for as long as feasible. The problem is now I'm getting constant nags from the App Store to upgrade pages, which is a proper pain in the arse!

I have used Pages09 for publishing hardbound and softbound books and Facing Pages option is a MUST because of the need to allow gutter room for the binding.

I hope the removal of features from the new Pages2013 is not a reflection on the future of Apple.

The new Pages does not have:

  • Mail/Merge - A bit one for me and I am sure business or sending invitations/letters
  • Facing Pages - a must for desktop publishing for print on-demand books
  • Drag/Drop arrange of page thumbnails
  • Copy/Paste of pages to duplicate
  • No Overview of Template pages - just shows one
  • Many features not obvious and/or hidden from easy access

I continue to have to drop back to Pages'09 to get standard - expected functionality. I hope Apple is Reading the feedback on Pages. I hope the executive level is aware of such a backwards and weak release this new Pages was.
