Facing pages options missing in new Pages
Am I missing something or is the facing pages options not available in new Pages app?

I can't find it and when I open old documents w/facing pages, they aren't "facing" anymore...

Not good for those of us who layout and publish books.
We can hope it makes a comeback. In the meantime, you can continue to use Pages '09 by going to the iWork '09 folder in Applications. I think I will be using both for a while.
Suddenly it’s not half the app it used to be.
It looks as if Apple, in order to create feature parity between the iOS, iCloud, and Mac versions of iWork, took the path of least resistance and opted to strip down the Mac versions rather than build up the iCloud and iOS versions. If you compare the file size of Pages 4.2 to 5.0, the new version is almost 200 MB smaller. A victim of iOS, I guess.
No wonder iWork is free now. Imagine if Apple had had the audacity to charge money for this update.
I had to pay $20 for the update, Mark. And I regret it...
So did I. So do i.
Ugh. Well, if it’s any consolation, it usually works to request a refund from the App Store.
Completely unacceptable and utterly disappointed in Apple. Sticking with my Pages '09 for now.
I'm pretty sick about the so called update. Been using pages for years, and never wanted an iPhone version of pages on my desktop. Will go back to the five year old version and hope they bring basic features back.
1. Facing pages
2.drag pages to change order
3. Copy and paste pages
Oh, and what about Fn keys assigned to Style Shortcuts? That's disappeared too.
Agree losing these three features (Facing pages, drag order, copy/paste) is a big step backwards. As much as I want to use the new version, without being able to drag pages to change order and copy/paste pages I'll need to go back to the old version for now.
Remember guys. It's no good simply discussing it here. Report all your concerns to Apple via the "Provide Pages Feedback' link on the Apple menu. Let them know how badly they screwed up.
Fitzherbert if you are working on a book (which most people using the Facing Pages feature are) then you probably want to use iBooks Author.
you can download it for free here http://www.apple.com/ibooks-author/
It is a great app and you can export your book as a PDF if you don't want to publish it on iBooks.
Hope this helps.
From reports received, Apple has cut down on features in iBooks Author as well.
Not that I think it is the substitute for Pages that jbunch7 seems to think.

That's only relevant to someone wanting to publish on iBooks and I'd imagine that's only a small minority of the overall book publishing userbase.
