Will OS X Mavericks 10.9 install on a Macbook Early 2008?

I have a Macbook 4,1 (Early 2008) and was wondering if OS X 10.9 Mavericks will be able to install on it?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Background

I have two Macbooks:

- Early 2008 13" White Macbook, 2.4 Ghz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, currently running Leopard

- Early 2011 13" Macbook Pro, 2.7 Ghz, Intel i7, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, currently running Mavericks.

Issue

I'm planning on upgrading the Early 2011 Macbook Pro to a 1TB SSD, and install the 500GB HDD from it on the 2008 Macbook.

I know I have to back up all data before upgrade. I understand 2008 Macbook will not work with Mavericks.

Questions

1. How do I reinstall Mavericks on my 2011 Macbook Pro when I have the new blank SSD installed on it?

2. If I install the 500 GB HDD with Mavericks on my 2008 Macbook, how do I (clean) install Snow Leopard?

There seems to be 2 answers: yes it will install, but no it doesn't run well. This is copied and pasted from Apple Support Re: OS X 10.9 Mavericks: If you Google it, there seem to be a fair number of problems with it.
