iCloud keeps asking for password

On your Mac, click the Apple icon in the top left corner, then down to System Preferences.

Thanks it worked for me too, been annoying me for ages! Had to uncheck both icloud accounts, but least it doesnt ask me anymore 🙂

today in the morning it asked for iCloud password again.

when I opened preferences, I saw iCloud's mail switch is ON again (it switched ON on its own) 😟

I also had to enable the iCloud keychain to resolve this issue... as a side note... the iCloud backup is working again...

This worked for me until just recently when I started getting those annoying messages again. If the original solution doesn't work for you AND if you now have 2 step authentication enabled, the problem is likely to be that some third party app requires its own password. Here's the link to the apple support page explaining what you need to do.
