Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Tried updating to the latest version of iMovie and I get the following message. "Your computer's video card does not meet the minimum system requirements." I haven't had any luck finding what those requirements are. What are the minimum requirements?

Ditto for my May 2008 iMac with ATi HD2600 256mb card.
I know I need a new computer, but family life etc has taken it's toll on my finances in recent years!
Same issue on my mid-2007 24" iMac with an ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB card. I prefer the new iMovie interface, so I'm very much looking forward to any workarounds anyone has to offer.

Same issue w/early 2008 Mac Pro: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB on board, twin 24" monitors, 12GB RAM.
I'm having the same issue here too. I'm using a mid 2007 iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of SDRAM and ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB.
What bugs me is that the update shows up but you are not allowed to install it. Either one of two things needs to happen.
#1 apple allows users to hide the update but still let you know that there is a hardware incompatibality
#2 don't let the update show up at all
I am not 100% sure this is the issue, but I saw a different thread about the ATI Radeon HD 2600 not being OpenCL compatible for another program and that a newer compatible graphics card would be required to solve the problem. I am getting the same message with my 2007 iMac 24" with ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256MB.
Same here with my ¨Early 2008¨ iMac 20¨ and HD2600 Pro 256MB. No, I do not need a new Mac, I´m still perfectly happy with the actual. Except for iMovie now frozen at 9.09 by the looks of it. I don´t care that much, but I can feel the irritation raising already having to see that red one all the time, for one pending update... 😠
This appears to no longer be an issue. I just got a new update notification from the app store for iMove 10 and it is currently downloading on my mid 2007 24" iMac with ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256MB.
(Note, this AM I was receiving the same error as everyone else).

Sorry to hear it. Are you on a 2007 or 2008? And are you running the GM of 10.9 or the one that was released to the public yesterday?
iMovie 10 downloaded and runs on my 2007 running the fresh release from yesterday.
Aside from the RAM and Monitor size, we're the same. Not sure what's up.
Silly question, have you tried rebooting and rerunning software update? The app store may have cached the bad file from earlier. (You may also want to switch your dns to point to 8.8.8.8, which is Google, if plane rebooting doesn't help force a rescan).
Rebooted...still a no go. Have not tried the DNS....will give it a shot. Seems unreasonable to have to go to that route though.
In the long run it may not be necessary to change dns, but I've had cases in the past where dns from certain ISPs and corporate networks may not update for 24 hours, and if thats whats happening for you, changing to google's dns might find the update.
Well, I changed the DNS and rebooted for safe measure and I'm still getting the message. How weird. I'm out of ideas. Thanks for the assistance I'll keep trying. My next step is to manually clear all cache and see if that helps.
Final Cut Pro X is still working on my Maverics iMac 2007 (ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB),
and that's despite the FCPX App-page claiming it requires an OpenCL graphics card.
On behalf of the iMovie users, why is iMovie claiming to need more powerful hardware than FCPX?!!
