Gmail-Can't fine or delete from Inbox

Since updating to Maverick I can't delete messages from my inbox or file them away. Well I can but go to another account inbox and come back and its back in the inbox. Everyhing works fine on iOS devices. Odd, I can see the messages in the folder I file them but they still aren't removing from the inbox. Any idea?

OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried this and it did work. I agree that this does seem like a lot to do since before the update, we did not need to do this.
