Mavericks Mail App and Gmail folders

I have installed Mavericks on my MBA. Now in the mail app, when I drag messages from the inbox to a gmail folder, they leave the inbox. But if I click off of the inbox and then click back on it - they reappear in the inbox.

Anyone else having this problem?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

GMAIL - ICLOUD - MAIL CLIENT... on Maverick iMac

I updated today to Mac 10.9.1. I had nothing to lose since I was having issues with not being able to send out mail. It had to be some setting on the iMac, because I cound send from the ipad and iphone.

The update did not magically fix itself.. but I tried this AGAIN, and this time it worked.

In Mail preferences, I deleted the iCloud account. I shut down Mail. I reopened Mail and in Mail preferences, I added iCloud back filled out the email address and password. This is what came up:

ICLOUD Acct:

Enable this account - (Checked)

Description (my icloud email@me.com)

Alias (my icloud email@me.com)

Email address (my icloud email@me.com) GRAYED OUT

Full Name - (Helen R****) GRAYED OUT

Incoming Mail Server (p02-imap.imap.mail.me.com) GRAYED OUT

*User Name (the first part of my icloud email... before the @) GRAYED OUT

Outgoing mail server - None

Use only this server - checked

TLS Cert - None

ADVANCED INFO for iCloud:

All this was filled out - so I left it.

Top 3 all checked ("compact mailboxes" is faded out)

IMAP Path - empty

Port 993

SSL Checked

Authentication Apple Token (BEFORE I had "Password")

Use Idle - checked.

I then went to accounts in SETTINGS and deleted GMAIL Account. Then go to Settings,

Accounts: Add Account DO NOT choose GOOGLE. Scroll down and just choose "Other"

Fill out your email and password This is what my settings look like:

Enable this account - (Checked)

Description (Gmail)

Email address (my gmail email@me.com)

Full Name - (Helen R****)

Incoming Mail Server (.imap.gmail.com)

User Name (the first part of my icloud email... before the @)

Outgoing mail server - Gmail

Use only this server - checked

TLS Cert - None

ADVANCED INFO for iCloud:

I saved it, and now I can send emails. I did the same on my ipad (delete and add accounts) I'm not sure if I had to, but I want everything the same.

Of course, now I'm getting 14,000+ emails. It MIGHT be a good idea to clean out your inbox beforehand so you don't have a traffic jam reloading your accounts.

Good luck - I hope this helps someone.

*I could be dead wrong about this, but I think this problem falls back on the change from Mobile Me to iCloud. When I opened my Mobile Me account, my User name was just "name." At some point we were given @mac... THEN we migrated to @me. Sometimes, like right now, my "user name" is just "name." And of course, I can't go back into Mobile Me and change it to @me...

I do love my Apples tho!

Similar problems here from day one with my iMac (purchased about 3 months ago). My particular issue:

I use the "starred" subfolder on Gmail for things I want to save and frequently move items in and out of that folder. Since using Mail on Mac (including the 10.9.1 update), the "starred" folder no longer populates. It specifically appears like this [Gmail]Starred and along with the rest of the folders does not seem synced to the IMAP. Inbox, Trash, and All Mail work fine up top under the Mailboxes header, but nothing syncs down where it looks like the actual Gmail IMAP is laid out.

What I can confirm through testing is that this current configuration on Mac Mail puts anything you mark as "starred" in the "flagged" sub-folder under Mailboxes (on the Mac).

So, like others I have to move the items via Gmail's web application or use my iPhone. It has always worked flawlessly on the phone. Not a huge deal since I have my phone on me most of the time but you'd think someone would have caught this in UAT.

Hopefully we see a fix soon...

Guys, I agree with the above where its not working. 10.9.1 didnt work for me, the bugfix didnt work for me, All mail is there but its not working.

To sum up: Archiving barely syncs up, Inbox delays like CRAZY, doesnt update moving messages, doesnt behave as it should. Constantly non-synchronized email and activities that I do. Pretty much the only working thing properly is sending...

I talk about the issue here a bit, if you guys want to share on FB / TW to help push this forward to a fix, which is all we really want:

As a user and Apple lover, this is very frustrating :-( Just give us Mac Mail pre-mavericks back!

Please fix it!

Well, I'm afraid 9.1 did not fix the Gmail problems. Mails are just not coming in. I see them in Gmail on the web. I see them on my iPhone and other iOS devices in Mail. I see them in the Airmail app. But not in Apple Mail.

I think it's hopeless. What did they do to that program?!

doug

Apparently they did not 'do it' to all, my mail works just fine with Gmail (and iCloud, and Exchange)

UPDATE: All my mail accounts are taking forever to get here on the iphone and iPad. I have to manually ask for them too.

I think everytime I delete an account and reinstall it, it is loading 30,000 old messages. Which would clog things up I suppose.

Will anyone that has a perfectly working setup list their settings? Because the "automatic" install doesn't seem to be working. Thanks.
